The incumbent will serve as an Environmental Specialist responsible for managing pollution prevent, hazardous materials/waste, occupational safety, energy conservation, and recycling programs.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
Administering the unit's hazardous waste management program. Supervising day-to-day hazardous waste management functions governing the generation, transportation, storage, and proper disposal of hazardous waste. Preparig, implementing and maintaining plans and programs to prevent abate and control deterioration and pollution of the environment. Administering Sector Jacksonville's Pollution Prevention (P2) and hazardous waste reduction programs. Assisting the safety manager in all aspects of developing and maintaining comprehensive safety and occupational health programs at Sector Jacksonville and tenant units. Conducting periodic energy consumption audits of Sector units and provide training and guidance to reduce energy consumption. AT THE GS-11 GRADE LEVEL:
Applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Specialized experience includes:
Conducting environmental compliance evaluations and hazardous waste management surveys to determine program compliance with federal and state requirements; providing policy guidance and direction dealing with training, planning, and emergency responses to releases of hazardous substances; analyzing and evaluating methods to be able to make recommendations on regulatory development; and implementation planning, organizing, conducting and evaluating long range projects or proposals.ORPh.D. or equivalent doctoral degreeOR3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree LL.M., if relatedORA combination of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in or related to the work of this position AND education graduate level education that provided the specific knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position and experience. Experience and education combinations are computed by first determining the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the total of qualifying education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify at that grade level.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
